Who is responsible for your data?
The data controller is the Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS), 3 rue Michel-Ange, 75794 Paris Cedex 16, France. The ATGC bioinformatics platform is operated by the MAB team at LIRMM (UMR 5506, CNRS / University of Montpellier).

Purposes, data and legal bases
The CNRS processes information needed to provide its public research services, answer requests and secure the platform under its public-interest mission (Article 6(1)(e) GDPR). Optional audience measurement relies on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). Accepting the Terms of Use or submitting a form does not constitute consent to audience measurement.
Contact and support
The contact form sends your name, email address, subject and message to the support mailbox. Required fields are necessary to answer you. Do not include sensitive or unnecessary personal information.
Analysis services
Analysis submissions may include files, parameters, a job name and an email address for verification and notifications. Job and connection metadata are also processed to operate and secure the service. A submitted dataset may itself contain personal data: submit only information you are authorised to process and avoid confidential or sensitive data on a public service.
Availability and expiry of inputs, results and notification records depend on the execution service and are indicated in the submission or result interface and its service notices. Save your results before expiry.
Technical management and security
Technical logs may contain timestamps, IP addresses, request information and browser metadata. They are used to operate the service, investigate incidents and prevent abuse. Technical logs are rotated and retained for a maximum of two years.
Cookies and audience measurement
Matomo is hosted by LIRMM at webstat.lirmm.fr. It measures page visits for the CNRS to understand use of the ATGC website and improve it. The tracker is loaded and audience data is sent only after you explicitly select “Accept audience cookies”. Without a choice, after refusal, or with JavaScript disabled, the theme does not activate Matomo. No exemption from consent is claimed.
You can refuse as easily as accept. Use “Cookie settings” in the footer on any page to change your choice or withdraw consent. Withdrawal stops further tracking and removes accessible first-party Matomo cookies. It does not affect processing lawfully performed before withdrawal; contact the data protection team to exercise your rights regarding previously collected data. Refusal does not prevent access to pages, contact forms or analysis services.
Matomo may process the page path, visit time, referrer, browser/device information, an online visitor identifier and network information such as the IP address. Query strings and fragments are removed from the page and referrer URLs sent by the theme. The integration measures page views; it does not enable cross-site tracking, advertising, heatmaps or session recordings. Matomo audience data is retained for a maximum of two years.

Acceptance and refusal are remembered for the same period. An expired or invalid choice requires a new choice before measurement starts. Previously deposited Matomo and post_view_* cookies are removed when no valid consent exists. The aggregate article counter now counts page loads without a cookie or browser identifier.
The tools catalogue also saves your chosen list/grid layout in local storage (atgcArchiveViewMode). This preference is used only to display the layout you selected, not for audience measurement; it remains until you clear the browser's site data. WordPress may use necessary authentication cookies when you sign in to administration. Embedded execution services have their own service information and necessary session/security mechanisms.
Who can access the data?
Access is limited to authorised platform and LIRMM technical/support staff and CNRS personnel who need the information for their duties. Information may be disclosed to competent authorities where legally required or to defend legal claims. Contact messages are handled through institutional email; analysis data is processed by the execution infrastructure used for the requested job.
Your rights
You may request access, correction, erasure and restriction of processing, and object to processing based on a public-interest mission for reasons relating to your particular situation. Portability applies where the legal conditions are met. You may withdraw consent to audience measurement at any time using “Cookie settings”. These rights may be subject to the restrictions provided by law.

Links to third-party sites do not imply endorsement; those sites are governed by their own notices. Use of ATGC services is subject to the Terms of Use. Report unlawful content, errors or a service issue through the contact page.
Accessibility
The site is subject to applicable French public-sector accessibility requirements. It currently does not comply with the RGAA. To report an accessibility barrier or request an accessible alternative, use the contact page.
